Our clients are free to choose any hosting provider, domain registrar, e-commerce platform, or other third-party provider of their choice.
We do not use proprietary language for website programming. This ensures that you're not "locked in" to our system or software. Standout Arts websites are built in industry-standard web languages with HTML and CSS. Due to ongoing security threats, we do not recommend WordPress websites; however, we will assist with WordPress websites as needed and have on-call WordPress-specific developers who can provide an array of support for WordPress sites.
Clients can use the simple in-browser editor for basic website content management or work with us for managed, professional website updates and maintenance.

We're an FAA-registered drone pilot with high-definition drone equipment to capture stunning aerial photos and videos. From business portrait photography to photos for tourism, locations, real estate and products, we'll work with you to ensure that we have the proper photographs for the job. Do you guarantee search rank placement or offer SEO services?
We do not guarantee search engine ranking for any of our websites and are leery of SEO firms who make such claims. The truth is that specific algorithms held by the search engines are proprietary, largely unknown and ever-changing. Our websites provide on-page SEO. This ensures that your website is well-suited for proper search engine performance from a design and programming standpoint. On-page SEO involves the content, internal links, page titles, meta data and other programming factors. Should you desire a more comprehensive SEO service, we partner with professionals who specialize in this service and will work with you to incorporate those services into your website.
Are you available by phone?
Yes...however, email is the best way to reach us. This is due to our method of scheduling our projects to ensure that deadlines are met and in-progress projects remain on track. Because we are hard at work responding to emails, providing proofs, meeting with our local clients and in the throes of often complex web or digital designs or programming, we are unable to be available by phone without an appointment or a head's up so that we can shuffle other projects to manage time for the call and/or have your appropriate project details in-hand to ensure that we can properly assist and communicate on the specifics of the project by phone. Where is your office and what is your service area?
We are based in Waynesboro, Virginia and serve clients in our local area of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. However, we are available for on-site projects within an approximate 100-mile radius of our Shenandoah Valley offices and work remotely with clients from all over the world. We have clients in nearly all 50 states!
How do you bill?
We typically invoice via email and accept payment by check or major credit card, powered by PayPal (you need not have a PayPal account to pay by credit card). Terms are typically Net 15. Retained clients are invoiced monthly. Block hour clients are invoiced for their block hour purchase with payment schedules available for larger quantity hour purchases. Hourly clients are billed at the hourly rate, in quarter-hour increments, typically at the end of the billing period, which is monthly. All services rendered are clearly noted and detailed on all invoices. Flat-fee projects are billed either monthly or upfront for their single project purchase. Website projects are billed on a payment schedule.
What are your business hours and how do we reach you?

Do you provide printing services?
Yes! We are brokers for a number of professional printers and offer discounted printing rates on products such as business cards, banners, brochures, flyers and postcards. Our rates are typically significantly less than online discount printers such as Vistaprint; and the quality is professional and backed by printers who are experts at commercial printing. Probably! We work very hard to accommodate deadlines. Many of our projects are completed within hours. Please note that a rush fee of up to $50 may be applied to projects requiring turnaround of less than 24 hours.

What is the turnaround time for printed products like business cards?
Standard turn-around time for most printed products is approximately 8-12 days, including weekends and delivery time. Rush services are typically available. Holidays may affect delivery times. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed, however, all of our designs are press-ready and can be used with any professional, commercial press. Therefore, if you have an in-hand needs date that cannot be accommodated by our printers, you may use any local, professional printing company of your choice to allow for local pickup and faster service, as needed.
Will I be able to make changes to my website in-house?
Yes! Our websites come with a simple and very basic in-browser editor for making basic changes to the text of your website. This services allows for basic text changes, uploading and replacements of files (such as forms or audio files), hyperlinks (internal and external links) and other simple changes, site-wide. Depending on the level of styling, you may also be able to replace images throughout the site. This service doesn't require any special software, works directly through your computer's Internet browser, and is simple to use - displaying the website on the editor side just as it appears, live and online without any confusing or cumbersome dashboards or admin areas. Some limitations apply and we always recommend professional website management services, particularly for more complex changes or additions to your website.
I have an urgent update that I need made to my website. How fast can you do it?
Most website updates are made same-day of the request and often within just a matter of a few minutes to an hour. Larger updates or additions may take up to 48 hours. If your change requires layout or design modifications, please allow a bit more time for completion.

Everything from social network account setup to advertising campaign strategies and implementation, social platform management, content creation and graphics, we can help! There are many ways to partner with us for social media marketing. We can work either on a per-project or hourly basis. You may pre-purchase block hours for a discount from the standard hourly rate; or, we can work on a monthly-retained basis either with or without an ad budget. Yes! We do this all of the time! We can work with you either by the hour, through block hour purchases (which offer a discount off of the standard hourly rate) or on a monthly-retained basis. Compare the different options to work with us.
Do you do t-shirts?
Yes! We do artwork for apparel and subcontract the production, using our broker discounts whenever possible. We use the best vendors for the job (quality, price and turn-around time).
Do I need to copyright my logo or other branded items?
We recommend that you consider trademarking your brand, including your logo. Whether or not you are eligible for a registered trademark will depend on your location and the type of design or artwork that you are wishing to register. Costs vary and are not handled or facilitated in any way by Standout Arts. This is best handled by a knowledgeable attorney.
Who owns my website, photos, designs or other intellectual property associated with my marketing?
Our clients retain ownership and responsibility for all content within their advertising projects, including websites. We will happily provide copies of your projects, including native files, upon request and upon full payment of the project(s). Stock photos are purchased (by us, on your behalf) for websites and other materials, unless we take photos for you or you supply your own images. Upon request, we'll provide the high-resolution versions of any purchased stock photography. Standout Arts are graphic designers and website developers and will work with our clients to develop creative content. Actual claims, offers, guarantees and promotions are the responsibility of the clients. We will make recommendations for verbiage and content, but our clients retain responsibility and ownership of their marketing and advertising materials, including promotions, messages and materials that are shared online. We recommend that, whenever there's a question of ownership, copyright, or integrity of a statement or claim used in advertising of any kind, that our clients use their best discretion and consult with their attorney whenever appropriate. We assume that our clients have the appropriate rights to use, share, post and publish any materials that are provided to us throughout the course of any project and we, as designers, are not responsible for the use of unauthorized materials if they were provided to us by the client.
I am having trouble with my computer, phone, tablet or email service. Can you help?
Standout Arts is not a tech company and, as such, does not provide technical support for computers, devices, internet service, or email. While we help our website clients setup and configure the website host servers, domain name (web address) registrations and DNS (Domain Name Server) settings, we do not provide email service or IT services. We do, however, have an IT partner who can assist with any IT concern. We work with Advanced Computer Solutions in Fishersville, VA.
What is the lifespan of a website?
We work to create websites that are state-of-the-art by today's industry standards. However, as with all technology, websites need to be professionally updated regularly and overhauled when they become outdated - either with respect to content or design or functionality. Typically, you can expect your website to be appropriate for your needs for 2-6 years. The exact timeframe will depend heavily on rapid changes in technology, changes within your organization, new or updated goals for your website, etc. Once your website reaches 3-5 years from when its development began, it will be important to reexamine its performance and how it compares to competing websites and new or updated styles and online functionality. Sites that are professionally-maintained typically have a longer lifespan due to the fact that updating these sites through updated software can help to automatically update the site's back-end programming while also ensuring that content remains relevant to your business or organization.
I already have a marketing person in-house. Do I still need your services?
Yes! We work directly with in-house marketing specialists on a daily basis and serve as an invaluable resource. In fact, our primary contact with the majority of our clients is indeed the person or persons responsible for marketing within the business or organization. From consulting to graphic design to website management, we are your off-site art department!
